Old Manila Walks

Looking for an exciting, up close and personal way to explore the historic Manila? Try Old Manila Walks! The group is made up of passionate street walkers that will walk and talk with you about the historic and charming old Manila from temples, wet markets, historic homes, museums, monuments, shops, walls, churches, esteros to graveyards and more.

Leading this group of walkers is Ivan Man Dy. The first time I saw Ivan was on the show of Anthony Bourdain No Reservations featuring Philippines which all Fil-ams probably have already seen or heard one way or the other. There’s two things I remember about Ivan: the hand signal while crossing the street of Binondo – showcasing ‘how to cross the street’ Filipino style, and the other is the voice with that distinct accent. I was on the third floor/roof top of Casa Manila exploring the antiques and the architectures when I overheard him talking to a group of young tourists.

I felt that i can not pass up the opportunity to approach Ivan and chat a little bit about his ticket to fame.
