Philippines’ most popular falls is the Pagsanjan Falls(Magdapio Falls) in Laguna. This major tourist attraction is actually located in the adjacent town of Cavinti, at the junction of the Balanac and Bumbungan rivers. Tourists are ferried to the famed falls thru a traditional Filipino banca boat for a small fee. The skilled boatmen(bankeros) will take you to an enchanting ride of ’shooting the rapids’ thru the Bumbungan river. At the base of the Pansanjan falls is a natural pool, allowing great swimming and diving. There are some caves to explore around the area which are known for their acoustics. Behind the waterfalls there is a small cave which you can enter. The falls are also famous for its massage, where people get ‘massaged’ under the falls.

Hostels and lodges are available around the area. This could also be just a one day trip.

Tips
When ’shooting the rapids’, you need to make sure you don’t hang your hands or fingers on top of the boat or you end up with crushed or broken body parts. You hold on to the handles underneath next to your seat. The ride could be bumpy with sudden jerks, falls and fast speed ride.
